About ONE Cayman
ONE Cayman is a network of resources and collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening the community through partnership and cooperation.
Background: During the first few years since 2012 when the YMCA was formed in Cayman, the “ONE” idea developed as a result of the Y’s early efforts to identify community needs. It quickly became apparent that plenty of good is being done throughout the island, but most NGOs have scarce resources and could increase outcomes through collaboration. Additionally, it was clear that many organizations were unaware of other efforts taking place in the community which could further their own cause and reduce duplication.
Further: Organizations who are part on the ONE Cayman programme come together on a regular basis to share and discuss topics such as: Calendars of events, current and planned programmes, resource needs, data and research being conducted, partnership opportunities, available training and expertise, etc..
Primary Areas of Focus include:
- Youth Development
- Healthy Living
- Social Responsibility
